Teaching the skill of writing

    Literacy, or the ability to read and write, is one of greatest gifts you can give a person. Some teachers doubt if there is any useful in class-work that could be done on writing, believing that it is essentially an individual activity. Though the skills are many and take time and practice to master, they will open up countless opportunities across a lifetime. These opportunities can then improve the lives of the next generation, greatly impacting and moving communities.  

     A student can learn to become a better writer by being actively encouraged and helped to follow through a series of preparatory steps before the final text is produced, and becoming more aware of that preparation process, so that it can be done more independently and transparently in future.
